2-3 month update

2 months!

3 months!

I feel like such a slacker mom!! I never did a two month update so be forwarned this will be one long update of the past two months! Sweet Brayden is so amazing to watch grow, he is changing so much and doing new things almost everyday!! He is all smiles now and is "talking" away!! It is the sweetest sound and we just can't get enough of his goos and caas!! Brayden had his 2 month checkup and dreaded immunization appointment. We finally found a pediatrician that we really like and are so relieved. Brayden is steadily gaining weight weighing in at 11 lb 13 oz and is about 21 inches long. He cried of course when getting his shots but pretty much took them like a champ! It wasn't till we got home that our sweet baby started feeling crummy. He had a low grade fever (for which he got Tylenol for the first time) and all he wanted was to be held and cuddled. Everytime we would try and put him down even for a second he would scream and cry. Luckily it only took him a couple of days to get back to feeling like himself.

Getting checked out by our new pediatrician

Poor baby!!  Look at all those bandaids!!

Here is what Brayden has been up to the past two months:
*He now loves baths and we have started a nightly ritual of giving him one every night before his last feeding
*Lately he has loved getting his diaper changed!! He lays there and smiles and coos the whole time, it is so cute!!
*He is finally out of newborn clothes and is fitting into three month clothes
*I am so happy to say that his sleeping habits are improving wonderfully!  At two months he was consistenly sleeping for about 5-6 hours a night, now at three months Brayden is consistenly sleeping 6-8 hours at a time.  The past two nights he has slept for 8 hours straight and has not woken me up till about 4:30 to eat!  That doesn' t mean tht I am neccessarily sleeping the whole time though, it is going to take a little while for my body to adjust and not wake up at 2 am anymore!  The best thing about Brayden going down at night is how easy it now is to put him down to sleep.  It used to take about an hour of giving him his paci and him spitting it out, me putting it back in repeatedly until he fell asleep.  Now, we give him a bath, feed him, put him down awake at about 9:00 with his paci and thats it he falls asleep on his own!!!
*Brayden is SO incredibly active!  We can lay him on the floor after we feed him and he will wear himself out kicking away
*Brayden has starting going to the "kids club" at the gym.  Luckily, he is happy to go and spends most of the time getting cuddled by the girls that work there.  He spends most of the time sleeping and swinging while I am able to get in a workout
*We are trying to transition Brayden to his "big boy crib" translation-his actual crib in his nursery, so we are putting him down for naps in his own room.  The first couple of tries, he hated it and would not sleep for more than a few minutes without waking up screaming.   Just within the past couple of days, I have been able to put him down in his crib swaddled and with his paci and he will sleep in there for about an hour which is great cause I am able to get a couple of things done around the house!
*Brayden is very observant and loves watching the fan, he will sit there and smile and just stare!  He will turn his head so he can watch you as you move around a room
*He hit one of his first major milestones, rolling over from stomach to back!!  He did it for the first time at 10 weeks and a couple of days and did it several times that night.  Brian is really good about getting Brayden to do tummy time and he only rolls over for Brian, I can't seem to get him to do it for me!!!
*This baby is so easy to go out of town with (for now!)  we have gone down to the coast a couple of times and to Dallas and he literally sleeps the whole entire way.  We pull over to feed him and then put him back in his carseat and once we start driving he is back out like a light!
Overall, Brayden is a very happy baby and so easy!  He is in such a good mood first thing in the morning after he eats and also in the evening after his 5:30 feeding when he gets to play with daddy.  He eats well, (he is getting fed 6 times a day)  sleeps well, and is consoled very easily when he gets upset.  He doesn't cry very often or for very long.  He makes us SO happy and we are havng a blast getting to know him every day :)
Sweet and snuggly after his bath
All smiles :)

Tummy time with Daddy!!
Look at that strong neck and back!

Brayden got a visit from his sweet cousins Halley and Carson

My first fourth of July

We spent Brayden's first Fourth of July down in Port Aransas with Brian's parents. Brayden spent the weekend in his festive red, white, and blue and mommy had so much fun dressing him up!! He spent alot of time showing off his new trick- rolling over!!! It is so much fun to watch and I definitely scream and laugh still everytime he does it! On Monday we went over to Braydens great grandparents house in Sequin. While there Brayden put on his bathing suit and got in a baby pool for the first time!! He seemed to enjoy the relief of the cold water on a hot July day!!!  Here are some pics of the weekend:

Brian's Mamer loves the Fourth of July!  Here is Brayden with his great grandparents
